Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings is a real time strategy videogame developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft. All of the cheat codes in this list should work in all versions of the game. Please note that using cheats will disable achievements. Also you can’t use cheat codes during multiplayer sessions.

How to enable Age of Empires 2 cheats

During gameplay press enter to bring up the chat window. You can then input the cheat of your choice from the list below.

  • robin hood : Get 10.000 gold (1.000 before the forgotten expansion).
  • rock on : Get 10.000 stone (1.000 before the forgotten expansion pack).
  • cheese steak jimmy’s : Get 1.000 food (1.000 before the forgotten expansion).
  • lumberjack : Obtain 1.000 wood (1.000 before the forgotten expansion).
  • ninjaconnor : Obtain 100.000 of each resource (you’ll need The Forgotten expansion pack).
  • furious the monkey boy : Summon the Little Monkeys unit.
  • ninjalui : Same as ninjaconnor.
  • rowshep : Same as ninjalui.
  • natural wonders : Grants you control of all animals on the map (you will lose control of your nation).
  • i don’t exist : Summons a penguin (The Forgotten expansion).
  • photon man : Summons a Photon man.
  • how do you turn this on : Summon a Shelby Cobra unit in your town centre.
  • resign : Makes you instantly lose the current scenario.
  • Put on your capes : Transform all infantry into Elite Teutonic Knights.
  • black death : Kills all your opponents.
  • Tech Tech One Two Free : Makes technologies free.
  • i love the monkey head : Summons a VDML unit that will spy your enemy.
  • woof woof : Transform birds into flying dogs
  • i r winner : Win the current scenario.
  • marco : The entire map will be revealed.
  • polo : Removes fog of war.
  • to smithereens : Summons a Saboteur.

Age of Empires 2 Cheats

  • !mute : Mutes all taunts.
  • !nomute : Unmute taunts.
  • aegis : Faster building.
  • torpedo {1-8}: Kills a specific opponent ( type number of enemy player you wish to kill).
  • wimpywimpywimpy : Kill your player.
  • black death : All the other players die, including your allies.
  • Going Above and Beyond : Let the player research the same technology (up to 256 times).

How to enable Age of Empires 2 command line cheats

  1. Create a desktop shortcut for Age of Empires 2.
  2. Right click the shortcut and select Properties.
  3. In the Target Box, after the final quotation marks, press space key and add a hyphen.
  4. Directly after the hyphen type in the command line cheat you want to use.
  5. Select Apply and then OK.

  • OLD_SCHOOL : Changes the font to Lucida Blackletter.
  • FASTVALIDATE  : Increases processing speed.
  • AutoMPsave : Auto saves are enabled.
  • NOMODS : Disable all mods and skip the opening movie.
  • DLC1_HIDDEN : Disable The Forgotten expansion pack.
  • DLC2_HIDDEN : Disable the African Kingdoms expansion pack.
  • DLC3_HIDDEN : Disables the Rise of Rajas expansion pack.
  • BASEGAME_HIDDEN : Disable The Conquerors expansion pack.
  • FASTREPLAY : Faster replays.
  • NormalMouse : Standard mouse pointer.
  • FASTVALIDATE : Processing speed increases.
  • Mfill : Use this to fix some display issues.
  • Msync : Use this to fix some sound problems.
  • NoMusic : Mure all music.
  • NoStartUp : Remove pregame FMVs.
  • NoSound : Mute all sounds apart from FMVs.
  • NoTerrainSound : Mute sounds from terrain.
